How to Make This Watermelon Jalapeño Mocktail

You don’t need fancy tools, but if you want to make your life easier, I highly recommend using a cocktail shaker. It helps muddle and mix everything perfectly.

Single Serving: Mock Mojito Style

Yield: 1 serving

Ingredients:
  • 4–6 fresh mint leaves
  • 2–3 jalapeño slices (adjust to taste)
  • 1 cup fresh watermelon, cubed
  • 1/4 cup white grape juice (or more for added sweetness)
  • 1/2 cup club soda or sparkling water
  • Juice of 1/2 lime
  • Ice cubes
  • Optional: lime wedge and mint for garnish

Instructions:

1. In a shaker or large glass, muddle mint, jalapeño, and watermelon together.

2. Add the white grape juice and lime juice. Stir to mix.

3. Pour over ice in a glass, then top with club soda.

4. Garnish with a lime wedge or mint sprig if you want to level it up.

5. Stir and enjoy.

Notes & Tips:
  • Not a fan of fruit chunks? Use 1/2 cup fresh watermelon juice instead of muddled cubes.
  • Want it sweeter? Add more grape juice or a drizzle of honey or agave.
  • Prefer less spice? Remove the jalapeño seeds or start with just one slice.
  • Chill your ingredients ahead of time so you don’t have to rely on ice to keep it cold.

Pitcher Version: For BBQs, Brunches, and Backyards

Yield: 4–5 servings

Ingredients:
  • 16–20 fresh mint leaves
  • 8–10 jalapeño slices (adjust based on your spice tolerance)
  • 4 cups fresh watermelon, cubed
  • 1 to 1 1/4 cups white grape juice (adjust for sweetness)
  • Juice of 2 limes
  • 2 cups club soda or sparkling water
  • Ice cubes for serving
  • Optional garnish: lime wedges and extra mint sprigs
Instructions:

1. In a large pitcher, muddle mint and jalapeño to release their flavor.

2. Add watermelon and muddle again until juicy and broken down.

3. Pour in the grape juice and lime juice. Stir well.

4. Strain through a fine mesh sieve into a clean pitcher if you prefer a smooth drink. For a more rustic vibe, leave it unstrained.

5. Right before serving, add the club soda and give it a gentle stir.

6. Serve over ice with optional garnish.

Tips:
  • Chill everything ahead of time for max refreshment with minimal dilution.
  • You can prep everything except the club soda up to a few hours ahead—just add bubbles right before serving.
  • Adjust spice and sweetness to your liking. This recipe is flexible and forgiving.
