Healthy High-Protein Ranch Dressing (No Weird Ingredients)

Small white bowl of clean ranch dressing topped with dill, served with carrot, celery, and cucumber sticks on a bright, minimal background.
I’ve made this recipe plenty of times, but I’m still working on photographing all my dishes. So until I get the real shot, here’s a stand-in that captures the vibe.

Warning: this healthy ranch may cause you to dip everything you own in it.

If you’re craving real ranch flavor without the bottled junk, this homemade version hits exactly right. It’s creamy, high-protein and built from simple whole-food ingredients that you actually recognize. The cottage cheese blends completely smooth, the dill comes through the way it should, and the lemon gives it that perfect tangy finish.

This is the ranch I keep in my fridge because it works on everything — salads, wraps, veggies, chicken, you name it — and it tastes like the kind of ranch you want to pour on basically everything.

Ingredients You’ll Need

Base:

  • 1 cup cottage cheese
  • 2 tbsp Greek yogurt
  • 1½ tbsp mayo
  • ¼ cup milk

Seasoning + Flavor:

  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp dried parsley
  • 1–2 tsp dried dill
  • ½–¾ tsp seasoned salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1–2 tsp lemon juice

How to Make It
  1. Add everything to a High-powered blender.
  2. Blend until completely smooth.
  3. Taste and adjust however your brain needs it:
    • More dill = stronger ranch flavor
    • More lemon = more tang
    • Water = thinner
  4. Chill for at least 30 minutes so the herbs can bloom.

This ranch works as:

  • a salad dressing
  • a dip for veggies, skip the milk to thicken
  • a topping for wraps or bowls
  • a drizzle over chicken or potatoes
  • a replacement for bottled ranch anywhere you’d normally use it

Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days.

It may thicken in the fridge — add a splash of milk or water and shake.
