Protein Pickle Ranch: A Flavor Explosion Without the Guilt

Protein Pickle Ranch is the perfect combo of two staples—ranch and pickles. If you’re a millennial like me, ranch dressing was the ultimate meal companion. Pizza, fries, salad—everything tasted better with a drizzle (or a dunk). But as I’ve gotten older (and a little wiser), my taste for store-bought ranch has faded. The bottled stuff, loaded with preservatives and artificial ingredients, just doesn’t hit the same. Instead, I crave the fresh, creamy flavor of restaurant-style ranch.

At the same time, my pickle obsession has never wavered. Claussen pickles, in particular, are my weakness. Honestly, I could finish a whole jar in one sitting—juice and all. Since pickles have always been a staple snack for me, it only made sense to find a way to combine them with my love for ranch.

Here’s the deal: most bottled ranch dressings contain unnecessary additives. Preservatives, chemicals, and mystery ingredients? No, thanks. Instead of settling for something packed with artificial flavors, I decided to make my own version—one that’s high in protein, full of real ingredients, and still ridiculously delicious.

That’s how my Protein Pickle Ranch was born. This recipe blends the creamy goodness of ranch with the tangy punch of pickles, creating a dressing that’s flavorful and guilt-free. Plus, it’s super easy to make!

The Perfect Pickle Ranch Recipe

Let’s talk pickles for a second. Claussen is my top choice (not sponsored, just obsessed), but you can totally experiment with different brands if you want a unique twist. The pickle juice is what gives this ranch its signature tang, so make sure you pick one you love!

  • 1 cup cottage cheese
  • 2 tablespoons Greek yogurt
  • 1 ½ tablespoons mayo
  • ½ tablespoon mustard
  • ¼ cup pickle juice
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1 teaspoon dried dill
  • seasoned salt (to taste)
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

1. Toss everything into a blender or food processor. I use my trusty NutriBullet for a quick, smooth blend.

2. Blend until creamy and well combined.

3. Transfer to an airtight container and store in the fridge for up to a week (though let’s be honest, it won’t last that long).

That’s it! It couldn’t be any easier. No complicated steps, no fancy equipment—just a quick blend, and you’ve got a homemade ranch that’s packed with protein and flavor.

Here’s the link for the NutriBullet—It will become your new bestie!
